Spot Profit Calculator After Fees & Break-even Price
Estimate spot net profit, return and break-even price after separate buy/sell fees and extra costs. No signup; amounts stay in your browser.
Enter positive buy price and quantity, non-negative sell price/costs, and buy/sell fee rates from 0% to below 100%.
Formula and worked example
Cost = buy price × quantity × (1 + buy fee rate) + extras. Proceeds = sell price × quantity × (1 − sell fee rate). Profit = proceeds − cost; return = profit ÷ cost.
Break-even = cost ÷ [quantity × (1 − sell fee rate)]. Divide percentage inputs by 100. Intermediate results are not rounded; display uses up to 10 significant digits.
Example: buy at 100, sell at 110, quantity 1, each fee 0.1%, no extras: cost 100.10, proceeds 109.89, profit 9.79, break-even about 100.2002.
Common questions
Why can a price gain still be a loss?
Price gains must cover both fees and extra costs. Hypothetically, buy at 100 and sell at 100.10, quantity 1, with 0.1% on each side: price rises 0.1%, but cost is 100.10 and net proceeds are 99.9999, a net loss of 0.1001. Reproduce this with the “price up, net loss” button above. Use average fill prices, not the latest quote.
How much must the price rise to cover both fees?
Required rise = (break-even price ÷ buy price − 1) × 100%. With no extras and 0.1% on each side, it is about 0.2002%, not exactly 0.2%, because the exit fee changes with the sale value. Break-even is not a price forecast or a recommendation to sell.
Does this include withdrawals, slippage or tax?
Not automatically. Convert relevant extras to quote currency; do not double-count slippage already reflected in fill prices. Tax, FX changes and exchange rounding need separate review.
What if the buy fee is deducted from coins?
This model does not apply. Reconcile actual received quantity and fee currency separately.
